What is Wishlist Club and how does it work?

Overview

Wishlist Club helps you recover more sales by giving shoppers two simple ways to stay connected to products they want:

  • Wishlist lets customers save products and come back later when they are ready to buy.

  • Back in Stock lets customers subscribe to sold-out products and get an email as soon as inventory is available again.

Both features are built to reduce lost sales, bring shoppers back to your store, and make it easier for customers to buy on their own timeline.

In Shopify Admin, open Apps → WC Wishlist & Back in Stock to manage both features.

How Wishlist works

Wishlist gives customers a convenient way to save products they are considering. Instead of leaving your store and trying to find the product again later, they can keep everything in one place.

What customers can do

  • Save products from product pages, collection pages, and other pages where you add the wishlist button

  • View saved products on a dedicated wishlist page

  • Move saved items to cart when they are ready to check out

  • Share their wishlist with friends or family

  • Create and manage multiple wishlists, depending on your setup

Typical customer journey

A shopper visits a product or collection page and sees the wishlist button, usually shown as a heart icon.

They click the wishlist button to save the item for later.

They open the wishlist page to review saved items, compare products, or share their list.

When they are ready, they add one or more saved products to cart and continue to checkout.

Wishlist works especially well for products customers do not buy immediately, such as gifts, seasonal items, higher-priced products, or products they want to compare before purchasing.

How Back in Stock works

Back in Stock helps you capture demand for sold-out products instead of losing it. When an item is unavailable, customers can subscribe and receive an automatic notification when it is restocked.

What customers can do

  • Click a Notify Me button on sold-out products

  • Enter their email address to subscribe for restock alerts

  • Confirm their subscription, if email verification is enabled

  • Receive a restock email with a direct link back to the product

Typical customer journey

Instead of adding the product to cart, they see the Notify Me option.

They enter their email address to request a restock alert.

When inventory is updated in Shopify, Wishlist Club detects that the item is available again.

The app sends an email with a link to the product so the shopper can return and purchase quickly.

The exact button text and email design can depend on how your store has configured the feature.

Why these features matter

Wishlist and Back in Stock solve two common reasons customers leave without buying:

  • They like the product, but they are not ready to purchase yet

  • The product they want is currently sold out

With Wishlist Club, you can keep those shoppers engaged instead of losing them.

How it helps your store

  • Recover delayed purchases: shoppers can easily return to products they already showed interest in

  • Bring back high-intent customers: restock subscribers are often some of your most likely buyers

  • Increase repeat visits: reminder emails and alerts give customers a reason to come back

  • Reduce missed revenue: sold-out products can still generate future sales

How to access the app

Sign in to your Shopify admin for the store where Wishlist Club is installed.

In the left sidebar, click Apps.

Click WC Wishlist & Back in Stock to manage wishlist settings, restock notifications, and related features.

Best practices

Place the wishlist button anywhere customers naturally compare products, especially on product pages and collection pages. This increases the chance that shoppers save items before leaving.

Use Back in Stock on high-demand products that frequently sell out. These subscribers have already shown clear intent to buy.

If you use reminder emails, price drop alerts, or restock emails, make sure the messaging matches your store branding so customers recognize the notification right away.
